Rec Softball
RBSA Recreational Softball at the younger ages is focused on learning the skills associated with, as well as the basics of, the game of softball. As players advance through the leagues players utilize what they've learned in prior years to play the competitive game of softball in a fun environment.

Our Seasons
Spring/Summer
Our Spring/Summer softball season runs from April through June. We have teams for all age groups. At the higher age levels, teams are determined by drafting players from registration and evaluation lists. Only registered players will be considered in the draft. Parent requests for pairing of players (e.g., to facilitate car pools) can rarely be accommodated. Sibling requests will be honored however. Drafts are held in early March. Other key dates can be found on the official RBSA calendar.
Summer Day Program
The RBSA Summer Softball Day Program will be offered again this coming summer. Sessions are run by Ellen Seavers Wolfstirn, former TCNJ and RHS shortstop. Ellen will be assisted by former and current members of the RHS varsity team. Registration is available through CommunityPass with Credit or Debit cards beginning May 1st.
Please see the 2023 flyer here for additional information or if you have any questions contact Ellen Seavers Wolfstirn at RBSAsummersoftball@gmail.com or (551) 800-RBSA.
Fall Ball
The intention of Fall Ball is a balance between instruction and competition beginning in early September, running six weeks through the end of October, weather permitting. Due to limited field availability Fall Softball will be limited to Ridgewood students currently enrolled in first through sixth grade. All players will be assigned to leagues and teams based on their grade level as of September 2023. Teams will be paired with another team for one, weekly 60-minute group practice Mon-Thurs between 3:30-6:30 pm. Group practice sessions will be led by current and alumni RHS players. Players will be assigned the same time slot for the full six-week program. Each team will get one weekly game on Saturday or Sunday.
